Grinders coffee
They end breakfast at 11am. So after many attempts to try this much talked about restaurant with 2 chef hats, we finally made it at 10.20am on a Saturday. The dining room is beautiful - spacious and stylish with white leather comfy seats and fresh white chiffon curtains masking the light from the wall lamps. Service was excellent. So was the Hot Valrhona Chocolate ($6) & coffee ($4).
Food, however was disappointing. There wasn't much on the menu. Nothing exciting either, and certainly no waffles I was craving for. I ended up ordering the Sauteed mushrooms on toast, truffled egg ($14). Everything was ordinary, even the egg which was just poached - and overcooked too! I've certainly tasted better for much cheaper.
He had the Fried eggs, thick bacon, pork chipolata, tomato ketchup ($17). Thank goodness the classy restaurant didn't serve ketchup from a bottle... it was more like chutney. Still nothing spectacular. And tiny portions too…
