Vittoria Coffee
Best in Sydney, Best Riccotta Hotcakes

Ok so I dislike the coffee with a passion. But Hot chocolate with Callebaut (for only $4) redeemed the beverages part of the meal. The orange juice was thick & pulpy - tasted like someone sat there and manually squeezed the orange… which probably explains why it cost $6.50.

The scrambled organic eggs ($12.50) were as light & creamy as all the hype. Definitely the best plain scrambled eggs. The toast was cripsy on the outside and soft on the inside. The bacon was tasty and rolled up so there was actually much more than it seemed. We also ordered the juicy mushrooms as a side.
The ricotta hotcakes served with fresh banana and honeycomb butter ($16.60) were divine too. Even better than Replete’s. I normally don’t eat too much butter, but this is an exception. If I die of high cholesterol for this dish, it’d be worth it.
Too bad this is one of the most expensive places I’ve eaten at (the bill for 2 of us came up to $53), and there’s a 10% surcharge on weekends & public holidays, though it doesn’t seem to phase anyone judging by the steady stream of people waiting for tables. At least service was good – they warned us about the 30 minute wait for seats, the 15 minute wait for coffees, and the very busy kitchen due to it being a public holiday. With updates that the food was on its way, all the waits turned out shorter than the warnings. But it was definitely worth any wait.
