Mocha Jo's

Mocha Jo's
87 Kingsway, Glen Waverley, VIC
Dimattina coffee

An east suburban favourite in the heart of Glen Waverley's shopping and entertainment precinct, it can be really difficult to get a seat if you don't book.

We wanted a table for 8 but were squeezed onto a table for 4. The cute waiter very politely asked the lady beside us if she would mind shifting to another free table to let us combine her table with ours (after all, she had finished eating and was only doing some work on her laptop). She took forever to move but we finally got seated comfortably and ordered.

The mocha was big and not bag at all. Unfortunately it was $4.40 (I guess they knew everyone would order a mocha at Mocha Jo's and hiked the price up. But the other coffees weren't that much cheaper either... $4 for a latte. Yikes!)

I had the Scram Fritter Stack ($13.90)- Zucchini & basil fritters, scrambled eggs and tomato chilli jam. The fritters were far too doughy and lacked ingredients other than flour.

He had Billy's Breakie ($16.20)- Avocado salsa, smoked salmon, two poached eggs, multi grain toast and tomato chilli jam. This was much better and presentation was good on a rectangular plate with each item separate. However, that meant a small portion.

What was a huge portion was the Scram Special ($15.90) - Eggs scrambled with ham, capsicum, button mushrooms, roma tomato, mozzarella cheese on a toasted bagel.

Overall not worth the drive but a great café if you're in the area.
