Di Bella coffee
This place was recommended by a friend so I tried it for dinner. Food was pretty good, fairly priced and had a good atmosphere given it was a mid-level Melbourne bistro. It was empty (3 couples) on a Friday night so imagine our surprise when we turned up for brunch on a Saturday and it was much busier!
We were the only people who sat outdoors 'cos it was cold but my doggy was with me. Yet, the waiter never ignored us. Food came out in a jiffy. It was restaurant-grade service, without the stuffiness. Hence the 25% tip at the end of the meal.
Coffees weren't fantastic. Neither was the Acquum Big Breakfast ($16.50) – 2 eggs as you like with bacon, slow roasted tomatoes, hash brown, pork breakfast sausages & grilled field mushrooms, which caused us to think twice about the sweet order we wanted to arrive later.
But being the pigs we are, we pressed on with the Buttermilk pancakes ($13.50) with a berry compote and vanilla bean mascarpone & toffee syrup. This dish moved the rating up to 3 beans. It wasn't thick and doughy, it had some kinda sauce in between each of the 3 layers, and the sour berries complemented the toffee perfectly.
